“Engineers of the Future - Smart, Skilled, Secure”: Project Kick-off Meeting on October 1, 2022



On October 1, 2022, the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, hosted the kick-off meeting of the project “Engineers of the Future – Smart, Skilled, Secure”, 2022-1-PL01-KA220-VET-000086326, under Erasmus+ Programme KA2 PARTNERSHIP IN VET, in hybrid format, with the participation of the project team, representatives of the partner institutions. The Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu was represented by Prof. Adrian Florea, PhD, the project coordinator on behalf of the LBUS, who chaired the meeting, Prof. Remus Brad, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Daniel Morariu, PhD, Assoc. Prof. Radu Crețulescu, PhD, Assist. Prof. Ovidiu Matiu, PhD, Mr. Eng. Adrian Bratu, MSc and Mr. Eng. Andrei Pătrăușanu. The partner institutions were represented by Mr. Marek Ostafil (Smart Secure Networks Cluster, Poland – the Project Coordinator), Ms. Cristina Murillo and Mr. Lander Berrueta (Gaia cluster, Spain). The main topics on the agenda were: the introduction of the team members, the presentation of the project and the project work plan.

The Project “Engineers of the Future – Smart, Skilled, Secure” (2022-1-PL01-KA220-VET-000086326), is an initiative supported by the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps, KA220-VET, with a budget of EUR 250,000, and aims to address the skill gap of the engineers of the future, by designing and testing a vocational education and training program, based on a novel and multi-disciplinary curriculum combining digital skills on modern industrial automation systems, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Energy Efficiency and Circular Economy, and Cybersecurity. The intended main project beneficiaries are the future engineers, as well as HEI and VET students interested in engineering and digital technologies.
